Blog Wars?! Healthy or not? & What if you met your blog enemy in real life?

Would you do it face to face... Why is it so easy to curse people on comments? It's absolutely unlike you in real life... but when you comment... ya 7aram the poor guy who happens to disagree... In real life you might be so peaceful when you disagree with someone... (especially if they are from the opposite sex) but not on blogs... its a totally different story...

Maybe I should have wrote comment wars... You see them all the time, one person places a comment here another one disagrees, a third one supports one... a fourth might attack all three and before you know it... You have people in groups, shouting, cursing, insulting each other with some really bad words...

You will have people becoming racists in their comments, something they might never do face to face with someone... you find people categorizing others... holding grudges, making friends and die hard enemies...

Is it real life with no masks, showing your true self... Or is it just easy letting the steam out when there are no faces to deal with... Maybe, you just want to see what it feels like beating up the other guys at the block, show them what you're made of!

I think it might be healthy sometimes but then again it actually hurts people's feelings even if it is just written and not pronounced....

What I would really like to see is... some of the die hard enemies meet face to face and see what will happen in real life and how they would talk to each other?

I have a rule in life:
I don't learn from who I agree with, I learn from who I disagree with.

Disagreement with civilized people can bring the best out of us, but disagreement with racist, ignoarant people bring the worst of us.

One thing that Worth mentioning ,that the Internet have revolutionized the way bloggers interact with each other whether in positive or negative way .I say It is very healthy to the soul and minds of people who use the Internet to communicate ,like Michael Parenti had once said.

Good post!
It's all so true. However, I haven't seen more people at each other throat as in the Jordanian blogosphere. You see, we suffer from mass ego issues. We all think we're Military leaders, or presidents. Some even think their prophets. Even more, some believe they're gods

It's really hard to please, and it's really hard to consider all points of an issue. That's why comments are there to enrich everyone with other people's experience.

And then comes that Naysayers and the whole discussion goes down hill. But who doesn't love drama once in a while?

Really depends on the level of animosity ! some of the people i disagree with i still respect, others are just bigots that are not worth my time so i ignore them.
That is normal for the internet, the idea that some describe it as an "arabic" or "jordanian" thing is misleading. especially when those people that say that always seem to be experts at everything (with degrees non the less)
ENJOY ! :P

Mohannad,
I agree to some extent.. I personally loose my temper sometimes with racists and provacative people... this shouldn't be the case...

Qwaider,
Thanks, but I wouldn't say the Jordanian blogosphere... its more like the whole eastern side of the world is more emotional when it comes to disagreement... Maybe in the middle east and Africa we are a bit more passionate about our views... many consider disagreement an insult!! but then again it's how you voice your disagreement, you can do it in a respectful manner or you can add some F words maybe even a few of those high caliber arabic words which blasts everything away...

but the drama is nice, sometimes I just read and laugh at the creative word combinations...

You can assemble a dictionary of the most creative curses on the blogosphere...

No Angel,

We are talking about your area of expertise... comment wars is your trade, I've personally witnessed a few of them...

You have a point, but don't you think that people in this region are more easily provoked...

Looks like you're picking a comment fight with Qwaider :)

ME ! ? @_@

Trust me things get pretty heated in some of the neocon and zionist blogs so this is benign really, and let us not talk about posting personal information and slanders.
Plus anywhere when the majority of the populace is below 13 things degrade pretty quickly.
to be honest we are alot more hostile in real life ;)

I think it's healthy... we are dealing with so much anger inside us, sometimes we have to let it out in a way or another, so this is a good way to do that :)
