How long have you been blogging? hmmm 100

What!?

Actually it's 100 and something...


I think it's wrong to have blog aged in years, not even months or days... Blogs should be aged according to number of posts... So, I'm proud to say I just passed the 100 posts around 3 posts ago :)


I guess there are many out there who are really old, a few thousand posts old...

Destroying A King's School in Jordan (Built in 1947)

These are the pictures that tell the story of tearing apart a landmark in this country's heritage. If you want to torture a man who has great passion for the history of Amman, all you have to do is take him to stroll down Jabal Amman and walk around the School that was built in 1947, the "Islamic Scientific College" It's wall once stood tall all around the buildings that constituted the architectural stamp of a different era. Jordan is still young, a country that is less than a hundred years, so when you talk about buildings that are 60 Years old. The first international football field , is no longer there, instead you will find the new buildings in this picture. Some of the most influential people in this country studied behind those thick walls. Including King Hussein, Ministers, Princes, Politicians, Opposition figures and many more. When did Jordan become a country?

What makes a country? better yet what is the definition of a country? It is not meant to make Jordan any less of a nation or a culture when you say that Jordan as a country didn't exist 100 hundred years ago. There is a big difference between an inhibited land and a country. "A country" adds the dimension of political identity, of a nation that moves with its self appointed leadership towards it's own agenda. Before the so called "independence" of Arab countries, we were part of a larger nation and a larger political cluster. It was not ONLY Jordan... Almost every other Arab country did not exist as an individual political structure as it does today. And we were sold the concept of "A COUNTRY" as if it is the greatest achievement of our modern times. Our greatest disappointment was sold as our greatest achievement!! The unity of the Arab nations was broken down with lines of ink held sacred on fresh glossy maps with 21 proud new flags!!

زمن الحمير و مكافآت دائرة السير بمناسبة الغلاء

صوت مرهق يصيح بكل إحباط "يا أخي مش معقول بدي أضب أغراضي و أروح على البيت أحسنلي"ه ""له يا زلمة طول بالك إيش في؟!؟" هذا الحوار جزء مما دار صباحا بيني و بين أحد الزملاء في العمل اللذي تفاجأ بمخالفة قيمتها 250 دينار...ه يعني يا إخوان مخالفتين أو ثلاثة و الأفضل أن تبيع السيارة و تشتري حمار... بلا بنزين خالي من الرصاص بلا مخالفات...ه مخالفة ب 250 دينار تصوير كاميرا على شارع الأردن السرعة 103 كم بالساعة هه سرعة الشارع 60 كم بالساعة يا سلاااام شو 60 كم بالساعة على شارع الأردن يا سيدي عشان تحت الجسر... المهم حسب القانون الجديد زيادة فوق 40 كم بالساعة معناها أن تدفع 250 دينار وإذا مش عاجبك ممكن القاضي يسجنك 3 أشهر و الباقي عندكم... و الله يديم القوانين الرشيدة و الشوارع الصح بالسرعات الصح...ه يا إخوان ...أنا بتذكر إن القانون توقف عند مجلس النواب ولا شو القصة؟!ه وبالمناسبة في حدا حواليه حمار موديل الألفين بس إستهلاك طبيبة (يفضل بيطرية) و بقطع في تنكة البرسيم 150 كم
