You're looking for that email, that excel or word document and can't find it... the windows find option takes ages going through all the data... U need that file on urgent basis and you remember that the email had something to do with "Paul" & "Sweilem" maybe the word frustration was mentioned... All you have to do is write the word in your google desktop bar hit enter and Voalla, prepare to be dazzled...

This has to be the best download I've done in while, I was saved a million times at work, I don't know how I managed without it... Google Desktop, unbelievable reliability... Super quick search on everything in your PC... it even searches the content of the emails and other files...

Be careful this might make your life easier... Love GOOGLE

Careful there, there are a huge number of Privacy issues since that little "innocent" service has been traced to report some of your information back to the mothership. So some of your data may no longer be "private"

Good point, Qwaider, its important to have your settings right on google desktop... but you can tweak it for safe handling..

Qwaider, I'm not sure that's what you meant, please refer me to something detailed on privacy issues because I'm very interested in that and I looked some articles on the issue and found that its not that serious... you can control the level of details sent to google "By default, Google Desktop Search collects a limited amount of non-personal information from your computer and sends it to Google. This includes summary information, such as the number of searches you do and the time it takes for you to see your results, etc. You can opt out of sending this information during the installation process or from the Desktop preferences later. According to Google Privacy Policy no personally identifying information, such as your name or address, will be sent to Google without your explicit prior permission."

"Google Desktop makes copies of all text files on your PC unless the preferences settings are tweaked to identify which ones shouldn't be copied. Further information may be found at http://desktop.google.com/?pr=hpp-gds-en-us-v3-1"

All security experts unanimously lashed back at google for this. Because as we all know, no matter what, these "text" files and seemingly "impersonal" details can (AND ARE) being used to track your behaviors AND violate your privacy. BIG TIME.
Most recently, the US DoD requested that Google allow them full access to this information that Google is "collecting". It's VERY scary!

By the way, I live couple of blocks away from Google office in Kirkland. Would you like me to say Hi? :)

hmmm ok can you recommend a similar product that serves the same purpose without this secuirity hole...

I still can't live without this search bar, "I believe I'm in Love"...

Live desktop search. I hate it ... but it comes without these headaches and doesn't report back to Live service anything
The best solution is.. use Windows Vista, it has this built in (FINALLY! GOD DAMN IT!)

Jordan is still young, a country that is less than a hundred years, so when you talk about buildings that are 60 Years old. The first international football field , is no longer there, instead you will find the new buildings in this picture. Some of the most influential people in this country studied behind those thick walls. Including King Hussein, Ministers, Princes, Politicians, Opposition figures and many more.
