Qwaider Planet gets more Votes than the Parliament Poll

Ok, so end of day one on the voting for your favourite blog-shop, Qwaider Planet takes the lead in day one... Jordan Blogs in 2nd place and the rest are trailing... check it out in detail...

So Anyway, what has this to do with Jordan's Parliament... the thing is, I started a poll on Jordan's Parliament a few days ago to see what kind of interest it triggers... and the number of votes on such an issue is not even close to half the votes that Qwaider Planet had...

Interesting don't you think... You can come up with a few conclusions... one of them could be People are not interested in the Parliament in the first place... maybe the question is too obvious to answer and not worth voting... or Maybe...

Just Maybe... people are still too terrified to speak their mind on anything that relates to the government, although we are talking about an anonymous poll a poll that seeks your opinion in qualifications of the nations parliament... Perhaps the recent events on freedom of the press might affect such a poll...

Anyway, whatever the indication... It's certainly not something positive...

People lost interest in this parlamant some times you feel like you,re just taking one step forward and two steps back.

I guess, its a combination of factors... loosing interest is one, I believe another one is as Dima said people are not comfortable with political issues at home... It's like U can talk all day long about Palastine and Iraq but when it comes Jordan then its off limits, even if its something minor like evaluating the Parliament...

I personally think the reason is that parliamentary items might not even be on the minds of many bloggers while these matters are near and deer to them!
Who knows, it's not one explanation for sure

it depends on how many visitors visit your site.

it has little to do with fear. if you ran a poll on the sexiest arab starlet, you would get a million votes compared to anything political of a domestic nature. jordanians specifically are more tuned to regional than domestic because when is historic even the other impacts their lives way more.

moreover, the question is broad: your asking about the parliament as whole, as constitutional mechanism...as opposed to this specific group of lower house mp's.

the number of visitors has nothing to with it because the same number of visitors are not interested in the Parliament qualifications but they are interested in voting for their favorite blog-shop... That’s the point... I agree the two questions are very different but that's the point...

As for Jordanians interested in regional and not domestic issues... it could be... but thats a nasty indicator (Jordan First) campaign didn't work... Although I can't really think of the blog-shops as regional, the ones nominated concentrate more on localized content...

As for the question being broad, you are right, my question focused on getting feedback if people thought that the parliament as a unit has the qualifications to represent our people...

If you want to torture a man who has great passion for the history of Amman, all you have to do is take him to stroll down Jabal Amman and walk around the School that was built in 1947, the "Islamic Scientific College" It's wall once stood tall all around the buildings that constituted the architectural stamp of a different era. Jordan is still young, a country that is less than a hundred years, so when you talk about buildings that are 60 Years old. The first international football field , is no longer there, instead you will find the new buildings in this picture. Some of the most influential people in this country studied behind those thick walls. Including King Hussein, Ministers, Princes, Politicians, Opposition figures and many more. The school's management seems to have a different architectural opinion!! So they started renovating, demolishing, removing struc...
