Suicidal Pedestrians & super powers...

Suicidal Peds are the ones who look the other way when they cross the street as if they are made of super flesh and bones.... hmmm stronger than any known metal... Eat your heart out superman...

Suicidal Pedestrians, will not worry about the speed of approaching vehicles, they assume you will always stop in an instant... that you somehow have developed spiderman's sixth sense... "hmm I sense a pedestrian about to walk on a collision path, he might come from behind that tree at a speed of one kotkot per hour, mine is around 70km/hr so I should hit the brakes or take the next right turn..."

It's as if they don't know that the person behind a driving wheel possesses normal senses, they really don't care if they are crossing in the dark... or rain... they just cross and its as simple as that, if they are only a couple of meters away, you should use your super fast reflex and the super freezing breath to lock those wheels... If your sight is blocked by obstacles you just turn on your superman eyesight...

What really bothers you is that they have no problem whatsoever with how long it will take them to cross the damn street... and if they don't look the other way... they stare, straight in the eye in disgust of the brakes you just hit... they might as well curse you for your stupidity...

Well, suicidal peds, the truth is... The only super power drivers feel around you is Invisibility...

the root of the problem is somewhere in the middle between careless suicidal pedestrians and stupid homicidal drivers. That's a recipe for a roadkill and a longterm prison sentence (if you don't have a connection, but if you do, you can shoot someone pointblank and get away with it)

Well, Abu Kilany i somehow agree with you BUT where are the Damn pedestrian tunnels and bridges!! Please try to cross mecca street near Tche Tche, nearly impossible without being suicidal! The intelligent Amman Municipality cannot comprehend that whenever they remove a traffic light and replace it with a bridge or tunnel, the traffic flow will not leave any gap for pedestrian so they have to add pedestrian bridges and tunnels. Of course Zebra crossing is out of discussion since we don't stop on it, While we should.

Yes... you are right the issue is a joint respnsibility... careless drivers to say the least...

You are absolutely right, traffic planning and control is almost non-existent when it comes to pedestrians...

The other side is the law. If you are a driver and hit pedestrian, your world will fall apart even if he's crossing carelessly or without even looking.

This has left the room for opportunists even to through themselves infront of cars to get any sort of compensation.

You know kilany,I disagree with you on this one,pedestrians in Jordan has no right whatsoever,Last year ,I visited Jordan along with my family and its always very scary experience to cross the streets in Amman ,twice I was almost run by cars,it shamful and dangerous to try to justify the bad behaviors of Jordanian drivers,that all I have to say,

Relax ya man... this is supposed to be a fun post... everyone always talks about how bad drivers are... Sometimes, you have irresponsible pedestrians... I wouldn't call shedding the light on some bad pedestrian habits shameful... and believe me this is not a post about justifying any bad behaviour... La Jordanian wala Palestinian wala 7atta khaleiji so take it easy...

The first international football field , is no longer there, instead you will find the new buildings in this picture.
