Looking back at the Tragedy that touched the heart of Jordanians in general and bloggers in particular on Sep 07. The Minister of Health stated that a thorough investigation was underway (it was stated on 11 Sep 07) that is 97 days old today. The director of Prince Hamza Hospital was relieved from his post. This is a good thing, but it's not enough actions should be based on the results of the investigation. If we fire the director of every establishment that has such mistakes will this solve the problems at hand and what about the other careless employees?! It seems that the investigation is heading for Scenario (3) Follow up is due and it ain't over till the fat lady sings... Happy Eid to everyone especially the new minister of health, who certainly has a tough legacy to build on.

So what now? The tragedy certainly didn't end... It was merely the end of the beginning, we are known as Arabs for paralysis after small victories... possible outcomes of the investigation... Scenario (1) Al-Qaeda is linked! Who Sane is found guilty for damaging the country's medical tourism and officials in the ministry of interior affairs are keeping him under parole , fine required is 1,000,000 JOD's !! The hospital management files a lawsuit and asks for compensation to individuals including the poor receptionist. Hussein's father is also found guilty for parking the car for more than 4 days in suspicious manner. Some newspapers are running stories on possible terrorist links related to the old man and his suspicious third cousin's behaviour. Some students testify that the car hit another vehicle just before parking! The mind has a very powerful way of work, fascinating, effective and sometimes quite dangerous. The mind creates "patterns" based on past experiences and codes them in words and gestures that are easy to identify in order to make decisions on the fly. Experiencing a pattern over and over again makes it harder for a mind to change the way it perceives things. For example, if you had a bad experience with a dog... Your mind creates a pattern for dog behavior based on that experience... If you have two, three, four similar experiences your mind identifies this pattern so strongly that it becomes very difficult to change that established pattern and restructure it... This is a very useful trait but can be very dangerous as well; it is very useful because it makes it easy to identify dangerous conditions at a very early stage. A mass poisoning in Baq'a , Jordan. Reported 97 cases of poisoning and one young man dies. He goes to the hospital, Doctors send him back home after treating him... the next day the young man goes back on a stretcher... carried by men... no longer breathing... The young man's father calls for punishment to the medical staff that sent his boy back home to die... and the doctors say lets wait and see what is the examination result before jumping into conclusions... Do you think anyone will be held responsible for a medical error, I don't think so?!?

Madaba is not a place known of being a troubelsome place, why would people fight overthere for Municipality elections? So many stories told on Families from Balqa voting for a candidate from outside Balqaa'... These are the stories you will hear in the streets of Amman and from people living there?!! I felt like an alien hearing the following stories... Am I living on the same planet?! True or not it gives you an indication of the people's reactions... what they feel and believe and that is something to take into consideration... And these are some of the stories you hear in Amman streets... During a meeting of some prominent families the elders/leaders clearly stated "we have instructions to vote to....." Some of the young & enthusiatsic said no... we are from Balqaa we always vote for our people why not this time... it became clear as the voting process continued that some were destined to win while others weren't... Many people say that they have voted twic...

The pain was so vividly portrayed, in this reporter's voice... a 4 year old died... The cause: a bullet went straight into her heart... a baby girl lost her life, in her own living room, you can imagine what happened when her parents saw her lying in her blood... Tell me how can you tolerate this kind of celebration... Two events in the last week caused grief and suffering... Tawjihi celebrations and the Iraqi celebrations over the Football match... , the radio reporter almost cried when he talked about this.... When will this stupid, selfish agonizing criminal activity STOP! When will we see people going to jail for this kind of action... this was after Tawjihi celebrations... huh celebrations!!! criminals shooting their fire arms randomly into the air... The second thing was the joy some of the "Iraqi-Football team" supporters showed in the streets of Amman, last night... This is not against Iraqis, for those of you who would like to know how I feel read this earlier ...

We know Divide and Conquer far too well in the middle east... Now how do you discriminate between people? its very simple, all you have to do is one step, focus on a few people who are ignorant and racist from any country or background.... lets say for example Jordan & Iraq, Northern Tribes & Southern Tribes... Anything... JUST Broadcast the actions of any of a racist couple of guys in the media... And voalla divided and conquered... People from either side will GENERALIZE.... without even thinking about it, its built in in their brain... stereo typing... And before you know it, before the clip is finished one of the family members watching the news will say... oh, Those low level Jordanians... they were always like that, they did this and that... And on the other end you will be hearing all the racist comments you never thought an intelligent person would say... "man, those Iraqis, they destroyed our country... I can't buy an apartment" "those Egyptia...

The above photo is not from downtown shops, it is definitely nor from a high end market... Its from a kids "Festival" in Khalda , Amman - Jordan... I have no idea what ZAHA Cultural Center is thinking about when they organize such an event... Is this the cultural aspect of a kid's festival, or is it the blankets and bed sheets section, or maybe the women dresses hanged like some kind of a used clothes shop... And guess what, it's the first thing you see when you enter! Great, just where I would take my family when I want to embarrass myself... Why would Amman Municipality even place their name on signs for such a poorly organized event, that is beyond my comprehension... Add to all that, electricity failures and kids shouting in the dark... What else in this cultural event, playing cassettes of one of those wedding bands, you know the one where the talented singer says something about this family or that... Yes there is a stage for kids to draw and three booths for...

It's interesting when you look at events from a distance... Let's work on the short term memory for a second... 1) Syria declares we are ready for peace with Israel, give us guarantees that the Golan Heights will be returned to Syrian sovereignty ... 2) Two days later, Najad flies over to meet with Asad alone and then with other government staff... And they declare a united position on facing situations in the region. 3) Najad also meets, Nasrallah ... 4) And Khaled Mash3 al ... Who would link the four points for me?! Since there is nothing on the news at this moment... If there is a link in the first place...

Oil prices are soaring high again and its not even winter... More money in the gulf would naturally mean more money pumped into Jordan... And guess what? hmmm remember diesel prices... there was a scheduled rise cancelled later on because prices went down... Of course, in Jordan once the prices are up they don't go down easily even if it's an international trend... especially if the government is benefiting... But that's not the point... expect that someone would soon come and tell you... oooh prices are up again we will have to raise the fuel prices again... sorry, but dabber 7 alak ... A recent article in the newspapers pointed out that tourists from the Gulf are grumpy about high prices in Jordan... I never thought this day would come... Apparently, we are doing great... money is poured into Jordan in the form of concrete buildings and steel structures... Who benefits, traders in building materials, contractors, business owners... What about the rest, I'll te...

Is it true that one should put his own country's interest above everything else... even if we are part of a larger nation... Does our sense of belonging to Jordan mean that we are no longer a part of this nation or are these things completely different... What if there is a conflict of interest between Jordan and Afghanistan, should we go for the gold even if it hurts Chechnya for example... Should we build Jordan even if the blocks are from the ruins of fellow nations... Should our building rise high even if it blocks breeze from our neighbours... How do you measure right and wrong? What is your criteria?

Our lives are as precious as those of kings, nothing less... Even if this man is the Saudi King... ya3 ni this is far too much... Why should people suffer, the following cases I've just heard at work due to road blockage in Amman... For those of you who don't know, the Saudi King came to visit Jordan and people suffered traffic jams for hours all over, cause roads should be blocked only for one man to pass!!! Ok first and kind of worst... a young man had to go to hospital for ( ghaseel Kela ) how the hill do you translate that... Anyway, his father takes him only to be stopped to wait in pain, the police makes him wait regardless of his situation... This is something I know about what about all the emergency cases that had to take medication or undergo life saving operations, who will be held responsible for their lives?!? Why is it that no one speaks in the newspapers about this?!? One lady parks her car walks two hours to get to her home in the heat of the day and is actua...

This picture is taken in an orphanage in Iraq... Young kids ages 3 to 15 years were left in the dark, doors closed, tied to their beds and starving...
